It’s 2011, I know, but crossing things off digi-lists is entirely unsatisfying to me. I prefer a good, old fashioned, handwritten to-do list, even when my to-dos are left undone. Look how beautiful these are! So perfect. So tangible!
Recommended by my most favorite design blog, Door Sixteen, I’ll get one and then I’ll write everything down that I need to do and I’ll do everything and then some, all on time and organized like! (Probably not, but I’m still totally getting myself one of these.)

(GOOGLE) READ(ER) THIS BLOG!
I stumbled across a somewhat unfortunately named music blog, The Bedwetting Cosmonaut, by way of Hype Machine, and I really feel like I found myself a little treasure!  The cosmonaut in question lives in Utah, and has a really great sense of what sounds good. He gets it.  And, he shares it, without the pretension that’s so often found in music blogging.
Do yourself and your ears a favor and check out his digital mix(tapes)!  So nice of him to make them for us, right?

Joseph Gordon Levitt singing “Bad Romance” is making me feel funny in a good way.

This is the trailer for the new TLC Show, Sister Wives, which is like the reality TV version of HBO’s Big Love.  When I first watched it, I hadn’t realized there was another window open in my browser with The Boxer Rebellion’s “Soviets” playing and so I was all moved by the message.  ”YEA!  RETHINK LOVE!  SURE!  OKAY, TLC!  YOU GOT ME!”

Ugh.  False.  Needless to say, that was just the emo music playing in the background.  I watched it again without the sweeping song, and was immediately grossed out* by the ridiculousness of this scenario.  Sure, let’s all marry this one, awkward dude with a shit-eating grin!  And then let’s all become his baby making machines and make him feel like a king who can sleep with any of us whenever he wants!  What!?  I mean, I know it’s rough out there, ladies, but it’s not THAT rough!  Really.

*Still totally going to watch this show when it airs. September 26th, yay! #masochism

First of all, have to see this Bansky film at Sunshine, playing all week long.  Second of all, have to love Banksy for these antics, nicely laid out for us all at Flavorwire.   Link here.

IMPORTANT PSA, PEOPLE: Yes, they DO still make phones like this.  And yes, people DO actually pay money (50 bucks) for them.
Anyway, gotta go!  Gotta run and text all my girlfriends from my new siiidekick!

“My Way” by jj, samples Lil Wayne, Charles Manson(!!!) and is awesome.  I forgot how much I liked this song, and then my iPod went and gifted it to me today while in shuffle mode.  Thanks so much, iPod!

I think if I were in a band, this is the kind of music I’d want to make.  But I am not in a band, so this is irrelevant.

Dear Disgruntled Jet Blue Attendant, I feel you.

Hahaaa, I love this.  Honestly?  I’d probably have done exactly the same thing.  F that rude passenger who wouldn’t apologize.

If that doesn’t call for an emergency chute blow up, I don’t know what does.

Drinking a beer on a hot summer night while listening to blues at any of these strange and special little places would be total perfection.

So, as I mentioned earlier, I’m packing up my apartment today.  In doing so, I’ve been trying to amuse myself (it’s hard!  packing is TERRIBLE!) with an ultimate playlist (which I’ve listened to approximately 38 times, making it no longer so ultimate feeling) and podcasts.

Just listened to last week’s This American Life episode, entitled First Contact, which featured comedian Mike Birbiglia.  He was so funny, that I’m currently taking a break from sorting through my bookshelf and deciding whether I have to keep the chick lit books that my mom gifts me occasionally, (“Shopaholic?  Seriously, Mom?  You totally think I’m an asshole, don’t you!?”), and watching Birbiglia comedy videos on YouTube.

The one above is like a year old, so not so now-ish, but it’s a laugh riot.
